CHRISTIAN PATTERSON was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and lives in New York, New York. Photographs are the heart of his work and are sometimes accompanied by drawings, paintings or objects. His work Redheaded Peckerwood was published in 2011 to critical acclaim, won the 2012 Recontres d’Arles Author Book Award and is now in its third printing. In 2013 he was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship. Patterson is self-taught but lectures extensively about his work. He is represented by Rose Gallery in Santa Monica and Robert Morat in Hamburg and Berlin.
